DTE Energy chooses EZMaxMobile for Facilities maintenance. Pilot project showed immediate results during the first week.
DTE Energy serves 2.1 million customers and maintains 69+ facilities in 17 states.
When DTE Energy decided to pilot a Maximo mobile application for Facilities maintenance at their headquarters location, they chose EZMaxMobile™. The pilot was focused on a number of goals:
- Eliminate the distribution of monthly paper job packages, along with the travel time to travel back to the office to return that paperwork.
- Replace this system with one that enabled real-time communication between the technician in the field and work management.
- Capture a full picture of work being performed, using QR codes to easily identify equipment and use EZMaxMobile to record failures.
- Record actual labor hours for both preventative and corrective maintenance work to better evaluate standards and develop budgets.
Providing greater transparency into problems had an immediate benefit. During the first week alone, DTE technicians created and resolved thirteen new jobs involving elevators, entrapments, and other critical issues that would have gone unrecorded without the tool.
DTE Energy also discovered that EZMaxMobile is forcing smarter planning, scheduling, and budgeting. “Looking forward, the data we are capturing is helping us understand the true cost of asset ownership and thus develop more accurate activity-based budgets,” said Mariam Mohamed, Strategist at DTE Energy. “This is another important, quantifiable benefit for the organization.”
