Websphere nodeagent is not synchronized with cell and Maximo won’t start

Sometimes I would randomly encounter a situation where the nodeagent in Websphere is not synchronized with the cell.  Because of this, the MAXIMO application server would not start and would fail immediately.  Now since your nodeagent is out of sync, you have to manually sync it again in order to get the Maximo application to start.

To manually sync the node(s):

1. Stop any running Application Servers

2. Stop the Node Agent

3. Verify the java processes have stopped running for the Application Servers and Node Agent

4. From a command prompt change to the IBM/WebSpher/AppServer/bin folder

5. Run syncnode <server name>

6. After successful node synchronization, start the Node Agent

7. Start the Maximo Application Server
