I'm downloaded a trial for a barcode generator for BIRT to add a barcode to a report (testing to see if it works as needed). The plugin consists of 2 .jar files that go in the plugins folder. When I open eclipse and preview the report there it works perfectly, but I can't figure out how to get the plugin working when I run the report from Maximo. I put the plugin files in <maximo base folder>\applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\ WEB-INF\birt\platform\plugins and restarted the application server. When I preview the report in maximo, it shows up blank, with just the date that's autoadded from the default blank report in eclipse (test report has nothing but the barcode on it). Does anyone know how to get a .jar plugin for birt working when you run the report from Maximo? Or is there a better way to do barcodes in a BIRT report, anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks

I've seen that, but the way I'm trying to do it right now, I'm not using a font installed on the computer, I'm using a BIRT plugin that adds it to the palette of things you can add to the report.  You drag a barcode object onto the page (or right-click insert it) to add it to the report.  Then in the properties you can set what you want turned into a barcode (text, numbers, dynamic from data source etc), and choose what type of barcode you want.  We liked the plugin option because it seemed easy and it's less expensive than the barcode fonts I've found so far.  It WAS easy too to get it to work in BIRT, but Maximo is causing more problems and I haven't been able to find anywhere that tells how to get BIRT plugins working in Maximo.

This BIRT Barcode generator is capable of creating barcode images in BIRT reports. It can be used as an Eclipse BIRT custom extend report item like all other report items.

I use this BIRT barcode generator. And there's a guide for you in BIRT Barcode Generation Guide. You need to copy com.barcode.barcode.birt_2.2.1.jar to your Eclipse plugins directory "\eclipse\plugins\"
