Hi, i ran into a problem with creating an update on an existing service request through rest.

I create a service request by using: http://maximoserver/maxrest/re.....y=priority

This creates a service request with the most needed fields.

No i want to make it possible for my users to create updates on their tickets.

I used this: http://maximoserver/maxrest/re.....ption=test

but i get error: Error 400: commlog#ownerNull

I read this article: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/.....wg21428253 and created the relation between the MXSR and the WORKLOGS but still i get the same error.

Could you help me achieve this?

Many many thank in advance

Thank you for your reply.

But do you mean i have to change the way i create a service request using rest? so post to http://maximoserver/maxrest/re...../ticketid/ and then?

What do i have to target there exactly? asume that the service request doesn't have any worklogs attached.

Hi Chon, thank you for your reply.

Do you mean something like this?

http://maximoserver/maxrest/re.....on=testlog (i get, Error 400: commlog#ownerNull

http://maximoserver/maxrest/re.....n=testlogs (i get, Error 404: BMXAA4187E - The relationship WORKLOG&DESCRIPTION=TESTLOGS does not exist for business object SR. Verify that the relationship specified in parameter WORKLOG&DESCRIPTION=TESTLOGS exists in the Maxrelationship table.)

I have blogged about it here...

Thank you Chon,

I hoped you would post the solution here in this post but you rather create a post for it which only paid subscribers can see. With other words, you only see money in helping people.

Therefore i'm not going to upgrade to a monthly paid subscribtion for this website for only one answer i need. Sorry. If this is the way how you make money then i wish you the best with this strategy.

Aside from this you used exactly my urls and my way of using the rest api in your paid solution. Thank you Chon. Very original.

Hi Chon,

I understand. I was shocked first but it's ok.

I saw that sometimes objects need to be connected to eachother etc or other customizations have to be done in Maximo. So i will buy a monthly subscription which i can cancel anytime as stated on the upgrade page. But i want to have your full support on getting the solution to work in our environment, also if customizations are needed.

Hi Chon, will you provide support on your solution if it needs further customization or settings set in IBM Maximo?
