I followed your tutorials on the MIF and am having an issue still with my interface tables.

  • Object Structure: RBACPERSONGRP
    • Source Object: PERSONGROUPTEAM
  • Enterprise Service: RBACPERSONGRP_ES
    • Interface Table: MXIFACE_RBACPERSONGRP
  • External System: RBACPersonGroup
  • Cron: IFACE_RBAC
    • End Point: RBACPERSONGROUP_IFAC
    • Queuetable: mxin_inter_trans

I insert 9 rows into MXIFACE_RBACPERSONGRP each with differing TRANSSEQ numbers but with the same TRANSID. I insert a single row into MXIN_INTER_TRANS and set TRANSID to be the same number as MXIFACE_RBACPERSONGRP.TRANSID.

INSERT INTO MXIN_INTER_TRANS (ACTION,IFACENAME,IMPORTMESSAGE,EXTSYSNAME,TRANSLANGUAGE,TRANSID)
VALUES(‘AddChange’,’RBACPERSONGRP_ES’,NULL,’RBACPersonGroup’,NULL,MXtransID); commit;

My Cron task runs, the row in MXIN_INTER_TRANS is removed by Maximo, but my 9 rows in MXIFACE_RBACPERSONGRP stay and nothing happens. I don’t see anything in my logs but it’s possible I don’t have them set up right.

Two days of banging my head against the wall and I could use some help :). Thanks

There was an error (below). I am not sure how to troubleshoot through this. The person group in question has zero team members and the sequence number I am putting in is derrived, but I’ve since hard-coded the single entry to be a 5 but to no avail. Thoughts?

“BMXAA4134E – RESPPARTYGROUPSEQ did not validate. Gather the logs from the <HOME> directory and determine the problem by looking at the message that is appended to this message.
null”

Chon, thank you for the reply – I believe the fields are required due to the error I received next: BMXAA4195E – A value is required for the Sequence field on the PERSONGROUPTEAM object.

Ok, this is complete and working. In case anyone else comes through on this particular subject, below is what I had to change to my initial design to get PersonIDs populating in PERSONGROUPTEAM using the MIF

OBJECT STRUCTURE

  • I modified the Source Parent = PERSONGROUP and added PERSONGROUPTEAM as a child
  • Relationship: ALLPERSONGROUPTEAM
  • Object Order (of both objects): 1

That’s it. That was the magic bullet. Thanks to Chon for helping me set up the message queue properly.

I apologize for the silly question, but where do you turn the Message Tracking on at ?    We are having a similar interface issue and the cron task is on and running, just not working.    Thank you!

Dani,

Good morning. Navigate to Integration –> Enterprise Services –> (your enterprise service in question) –> Select Action/More Actions –> Message Tracking

Be sure to set up your message tracking appropriately. Here is an article from IBM to get your started. In my example in this post, I only used External Message ID and left Search ID blank. Below was my External Message ID.

{http://www.ibm.com/maximo}SyncRBACPERSONGRP/{http://www.ibm.com/maximo}RBACPERSONGRPSet/{http://www.ibm.com/maximo}PERSONGROUPTEAM/{http://www.ibm.com/maximo}PERSONGROUPTEAMID
