I am creating a custom application for Maximo that allows me to do some project management. I have created all of my tables and relationships and have everything setup the way it is supposed to be. My application refers to a child table that is used to store information about project rates. I have the table created and linked up with the application, so no problems there.
My issue is that I want to be able to use the “New Row” button to create a new “Rate” which is on a separate table. I want to make sure that the project number field is being set to the same value as the project number on the project.
How do I set up the project number field on the rate to auto-fill from the parent project record?
Screenshot:
I tried this: http://maximodev.blogspot.com/…..imo.html
However the issue being when I created a new Project and went to add a rate, it would populate a random project number that existed in the system. It also caused me to have to leave the detail screen, return to the list, refresh the list, and re-enter the detail screen in order for the number to autofill.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I’m running Maximo 7.6.0.5

That link has 3 different ways to map the fields together, which ones did you try?
We were hoping to avoid the Java customization and ideally just set this link inside the Application Designer and avoid any custom scripting.
The closest we were able to get was by using the default value field, which did work. The issue being that when a new project was created the user would have to back out of the detail view, and refresh the result list, then navigate back to the project record for this to work. If the project was already created the default worked perfectly.
I believe this is caused the the results_showlist which is pulling a value out the list that is “selected.” Is there a way to set the Data Source ID to the current parent record?
