Question to all:
We are moving to a multi-organizational instance of Maximo. We have multiple sites per organization. Our operations center currently works out of two instances based on the organization they are updating records for. In the very near future, those two will be combined in one instance, as well as two new organizations we are bringing on. Our internal staff will have security access for all orgs, but I was hoping to find a way to restrict their record access to one ORG at a time. They will still have the ability to change their ORG, much like their default insert site. I’m hoping to be able to add a field and use some conditional logic, I would prefer not to dive into the JAVA.
Much of the searching is done off record number. This will cause issues with the possibility of duplicate unique IDs spanning different orgs. We don’t want to give them the opportunity to accidentally update a record for the wrong organization.
Any ideas would be appreciated, or if someone already has done this I would love to know how you did it.
